Conveyorised Metal Detection Systems
A conveyorised metal detector is a complete inspection station: search head, belt conveyor, reject mechanism, reject confirmation and controls supplied as one integrated unit that drops into a production line. It is the most common format in Malaysian food and packaging plants because it arrives commissioned as a system rather than as a head that still has to be engineered into a frame.
What the System Includes
- Search head sized to the pack, with product-effect compensation
- Belt conveyor with hygienic or industrial construction to suit the environment
- Reject device — air blast, pusher, retracting belt or flap, chosen by pack weight and format
- Lockable reject bin with bin-full and reject-confirmation sensing
- Controls and reporting — test logging, fault alarms and audit records
Integrating Into an Existing Line
Most installations are retrofits into a running line, which means finding the space, matching belt heights and speeds, handling the reject discharge and tying the controls into the upstream and downstream equipment.
